The Bihar Police vacancy is released on yearly basis by the Bihar Police subordinate service commission (BPSC) for the post of constable, Sub-Inspector, and Assistant Sub-Inspector of Police. This BPSC has announced 1998 SI vacancies, 683 Sergeant vacancies, and 8415 Constable vacancies for the 2021 examination.

The candidate has to clear the written examinations (prelims and mains), physical standard test (PST), physical efficiency test (PET), medical test, and document validation to be selected for the posts provided by the board. The candidates who clear all the rounds are selected for the job vacancies and are sent for training before joining duty.

Bihar Police Service Examination 

The Bihar Police Service Examination is conducted for candidates appearing for the different profiles in the Bihar Police. The examination is conducted every year. BPSC will announce the details for the different rounds on their official website. There is no fixed number of attempts for the exam, but it is always beneficial to clear it on the first attempt.

Bihar Police Service Exam Pattern

  • The 2021 Bihar Police Exam preliminary written test will be conducted on 05 December 2021.
  • The dates for the main written round for the selected candidates will be announced on the official website.
  • The written exam would be conducted based on general knowledge, General Hindi, General Science, General Education, History, Civics, Geography, Mathematics, and mental ability. The entire syllabus is available on their official website.
  • The preliminary written examination consists of 100 questions and two marks for every correct answer, and 0.2 would be deducted for every wrong answer. The exam would be conducted on General Knowledge and Current affairs.
  • The mains written examination consists of 100 questions for General Hindi, and the other 100 questions include General Studies, History, Civics, Mathematics, General Science, Geography, History, and Mental aptitude. Each correct answer would be awarded 2 marks, and 0.2 marks would be deducted for every wrong answer.
  • The candidates need to score a minimum of 30% of the total marks to be selected for the main written examination.
  • The selected candidates from the written round would be invited for the Physical standard test (PST) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET), medical test, and document verification.
  • Once the candidate clears all the rounds successfully, they are sent for the training.
