Tips & Strategies to Prepare for JEE Mains by an IITian

GMAT English

JEE Mains preparation entails honing your analytical skills to a high degree. The emphasis in school is different. In terms of CBSE, the emphasis is more on honing your ability to digest the material and then deliver it well. This is a skill that everyone needs to acquire a job. However, getting into IITs isn’t simply about getting a job; at least, that isn’t the IITs’ ideal aim. IITs’ mission is to create graduates who make a significant contribution to science and technology, i.e., who solve issues using science and math. As a result, they prefer to offer comparable questions that evaluate your ability to use science and math in order to stay up with that mission.

Tips & Strategies

Let’s look at an example. Assume you’ve been taught how to solve a Rubik’s cube for a specific initial configuration or a portion of the steps necessary to solve the Rubik’s cube from a specific starting position. JEE Mains wants you to solve the Rubik’s cube by experimenting with different beginning configurations, learning new rules, creating new rules, devising creative techniques and shortcuts, and so forth. You must have gotten the gist of what we’re attempting to say.

So, it’s tough to ace JEE Mains unless you’re truly interested in physics and math because you’ll need that internal motivation to go beyond the formula for solving math problems. You should consider whether there is a simpler approach to solving quadratic equations, whether cubic equations can be handled in the same manner, and what particular situations of bi-quadratic equations may be solved using this technique, among other things. It’s crucial to be able to ask a lot of questions or, at the very least, to be curious.

If you have it, all you have to do now is seek the answers in the appropriate areas. Don’t stress about figuring out all of your questions on your own. You don’t want to compete in the Olympiads. Simply have an obsessive personality when it comes to new issues, and grasp how various difficulties are addressed, internalise the procedures, and so on. There are several publications available to satisfy anyone’s curiosity about JEE Mains. We’ll talk about it as well.

Although the significance of physics and math has been highlighted, it is also critical to recognise the importance of chemistry. Because many students appear to be able to grasp JEE Mains chemistry level, it was previously removed. JEE mains is, first and foremost, a competition. So, you’ll need a leg up on the competition. Your chemistry should be excellent since if you prepared well, this will result in simple scores, and many candidates will have good results.

However, you can only get an advantage over others in physics and math. It’s pointless to study for JEE Mains if you simply enjoy chemistry. It is simply being highlighted that chemistry may not be adequate for admission to IITs in general. If you want to be able to select which college you attend and which department you study in, you must excel in either math or physics. All of these decisions are significant, but they are outside the scope of this paper. So, physics or math in a nutshell? One of these will serve as you.

If you have all of the above, the rest is a piece of cake. Finding a balance between preparing for JEE Mains and learning for 8 hours at school is all it takes. Both are mutually exclusive for all practical purposes, yet both are equally vital for professional advancement. One might offer time management advice, but it all boils down to one basic fact: if you really want to go into IITs, you’ll have to figure out how to balance your time.

Provide excellent question banks

When compared to developing your physics and arithmetic skills, this is a piece of cake. For foundational mathematics, the textbook series by Dr K.C. Sinha is beneficial, as these volumes contain a large number of problems divided into several sorts of approaches. It functions as a link between school math and JEE Mains math. Solving TMH books combined with previous years’ JEE papers should be sufficient practice if you are acquainted with such books.

The best suggestion is to try to solve as many issues as possible from various sources. Some coaching centres provide excellent question banks with challenging questions to tackle. Exposure to various types of issues is the key to passing JEE Mains. Solve as many problems as you can. Everyone can do arithmetic; it isn’t that difficult, at least up to the JEE Mains level.

The difficult aspect is applying that knowledge to a new situation. And, once again, telling you how to improve your problem-solving abilities in depth is beyond the scope of this essay. Most individuals are aware of the value of practice. Foreign mathematicians have published books to assist students to improve their problem-solving skills.
